Abstract
Is Patristics still relevant in the 21st century? The paper states some factors for the decline of the popularity of Patristics in the 19th-20th century, and while the Patristics ressourcement happened before Vatican II, but after Vatican II, Patristics studies dwindled. Faith and culture as ingredients of inculturation then and now, in the Church Fathers' era and the present era can become complementary in doing theology in Asia, as the importance of Patristics as examples of Tradition is recalled. How can Patristics still be relevant? An example is given from Tertullian's Aduersus Marcionem, where he argues against Marcion by citing Jesus' Transfiguration.
