Landas (the Filipino word for “way”) is the peer-reviewed academic journal of the Loyola School of Theology. It is published twice a year, in October and March, by the Loyola School of Theology, with an address at the Ateneo de Manila University, Katipunan Ave., Loyola Heights, Quezon City, Philippines, Tel. No. (63 2) 8426-6430.
From its inaugural issue in 1987, Landas has expressed a clear vision: to make a modest contribution to the need for published material written by authors living and working in the Philippines and Asia. The title Landas carries venerable biblical significance. While this was not the first theological journal to adopt the name, the founding editors were drawn to it for its capacity to express a fundamental reality regarding theological reflection: that faith is a pilgrimage, a way of life, and an authentic orientation toward Christ and the world — a metaphor for the theological journey undertaken by both authors and readers.
Since its inaugural issue in January 1987 (Vol. 1, No. 1), Landas has been published regularly and continues to serve as a forum for scholarly dialogue that engages Scripture, Christology, Ecclesiology, Spirituality, Mission, and other theological disciplines in the context of the Church and society.
