Abstract

Drawing on Scripture, Vatican II, the teaching of recent popes, and FABC documents, this article develops a theology of integral evangelization for the Catholic Church in Bangladesh. After tracing the biblical roots of mission from Israel's centripetal vocation to the New Testament's universal mandate, the author outlines five constitutive elements of evangelization, namely witness of life, human liberation, interreligious dialogue, explicit proclamation, and liturgical-contemplative life, drawn especially from Evangelii Gaudium. Applying these to Bangladesh's small, minority Church, the article argues that the local Church must move beyond a narrow, proclamation-centered model of mission toward a more holistic evangelization engaging dialogue with cultures, other religions, and the poor.
