Abstract

This study offers a pastoral critical re-reading of John Paul II's Mulieris Dignitatem from the perspective of Angolan cosmology, where womanhood is revered through life-giving presence and relational responsibility yet coexists with structural marginalization in both society and the Church. Drawing on African and Asian feminist theologians, the paper argues that reclaiming women's dignity in the Angolan synodal Church requires that complementarity rooted in Christian communion be embodied in ecclesial structures and practices, not confined to doctrinal or pastoral rhetoric.
