Abstract

This synthesis paper proposes Ignatius of Loyola's La Storta experience of being “placed with the Son” as a concrete starting point for explaining the Catholic Creed to a modern audience skeptical of faith claims. Using the analogy of a three-dimensional coordinate system, the author locates the articles of Christian belief within an “Ignatian trinitarian worldview,” in which everything comes from God, returns to God, and is understood only in God, mediated by Christ the Son. Reflecting on his own formation as a Chinese Jesuit trained in the sciences, the author argues that Christian life is fundamentally a participation in the life of the Triune God, offering a coherent, experience-rooted approach to catechesis and personal faith integration.
