Full, Conscious, and Active Participation in the Liturgy in Sacrosanctum Concilium as Pastoral Response to the Universal Call to Holiness in Lumen Gentium

Abstract
This article traces the theological link between two key teachings of Vatican II: the universal call to holiness in Chapter V of Lumen Gentium and the call for full, conscious, and active liturgical participation in Sacrosanctum Concilium. Drawing on conciliar texts, the GIRM, and commentators such as Jungmann, Wulf, Boselli, Ratzinger, and Levering, the author argues that holiness is a shared participation in God's own holiness, fostered above all through the sacraments and the liturgy. Renewed participation in the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist forms the concrete pastoral means by which the faithful grow in sanctity in daily life, culminating in a liturgical spirituality that unites worship with the offering of one's whole existence to God.
