Abstract

This study explores the experiences of the Internally Displaced Persons in the Diocese of Fada N’Gourma in Burkina Faso amid terrorism. It uses the See-Judge-Act method of Catholic Social Teaching to investigate the challenges to IDPs’ dignity. The observations reveal an IDP population victimized by discrimination and neglect within the host communities, emphasizing the moral imperative to uphold dignity. The research contributes to theological reflection on displacement and dignity while highlighting the Church’s unique faith-based humanitarian assistance, free from proselytism and political agendas despite the structural and practical limitations and difficulties.
