Antonio J. Ledesma, S.J.

Archbishop Antonio J. Ledesma, S.J. is Archbishop Emeritus of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, where he served from 2006 to 2020. Shortly after his installation in 2006, he initiated the Responsible Parenthood and All-Natural Family Planning (RP & All-NFP) Program of the Archdiocese as one of his priority programs. Through his leadership, the Archdiocese launched two books on natural family planning in 2010 as part of the Catholic Church’s promotion of NFP as an alternative to artificial contraceptive methods. The first book, titled “Natural Family Planning: Values, Issues and Practices,” which contains a compilation of articles about the issue of NFP, presents the Church’s values formation and simplified methods like the standard days method. The other publication is the trainer’s manual aimed at teaching NFP to potential trainers and counsel providers.
