Gaizel Arguelles Adan

Gaizel Arguelles Adan is a Ph.D. student in Anthropology at Purdue University. She received a Doctor of Ministry from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Her doctoral thesis focused on how Filipino single women and companion animals co-create multispecies homes of ministry that resist anthropocentric, patriarchal, colonial, and imperial logics of domination that simultaneously marginalize single women and animals. Her research at Purdue examines the intersection of religious rituals, recurring flooding, and flood governance in Baao, Camarines Sur, through decolonial approaches.
