Maria Socorro T. Bacani

Maria Socorro T. Bacani is a Licensed Professional Teacher who earned her Bachelor of Science in Education, major in English, from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, in 1986. She completed her Master of Arts in Theological Studies from the Ateneo de Manila University through the Graduate Program of the Formation Institute for Religious Educators (F.I.R.E.) in 2000, and earned her PhD in Theology, with a concentration in Religious Education, from the Loyola School of Theology and the Ateneo de Manila University in 2017. Her professional experience spans key areas and levels in education and religious formation. She has taught English, Christian Living Education, and Values Education at the secondary level, as well as Fundamentals of Christian Doctrine, Theology, and Religious Education at the tertiary level. Her leadership roles include serving as a CLE National Coordinator, college dean, regular contributor, and head of the editorial board of a religious congregation’s publication from 2012 to 2015. She currently works as a freelance editor, thesis style reader, and English language mentor.
