Rekha M. Chennattu, R.A.

Sister Rekha Chennattu, RA, is a biblical theologian from India. She earned a licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome and a PhD in Biblical Studies from the Catholic University of America, USA. She served as Head of the Department of Biblical Studies (2005-2008) and as founding Director of the Master’s Program in Biblical Studies (2007-2010) at Jnanadeepa, the Pontifical Atheneum, India. Her theological expertise and dedication to ecclesial service are reflected in her participation in the Synod of Bishops in Rome on New Evangelization in 2012. She served on the Ecumenical Lectionary Working Group for the Feast of Creation. She is currently the second-time elected Superior General of the Religious of the Assumption, based in Paris, France, and a Member of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences – Office of Theological Concerns (FABC-OTC).
