Rogel Anecito L. Abais, SJ

Rogel Anecito L. Abais, S.J. is a Filipino Jesuit priest, biblical theologian, and professor at the Loyola School of Theology (LST), Ateneo de Manila University. He earned his Licentiate in Sacred Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University and his Doctorate in Sacred Theology from Loyola School of Theology, both specializing in Biblical Theology. His doctoral dissertation, Collective Identity in Suffering: A Narrative Study of Exodus 1–18 with Sociological and Theological Considerations, was defended in 2021 under the direction of Fr. Jean-Pierre Sonnet, S.J. His scholarly interests include biblical interpretation, narrative theology, Exodus, and the theological dimensions of suffering and collective identity.
