Septian Marhenanto, SJ

Antonius Septian Marhenanto, SJ is an Indonesian Jesuit priest. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from President University in 2013 and pursued further philosophical studies at Driyarkara School of Philosophy in Jakarta. He earned his Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology from Loyola School of Theology and his Master of Arts in Theological Studies, specializing in Systematic Theology, from Ateneo de Manila University. His master’s thesis, The Mysteries of Christ’s Self-Emptying: Henri Nouwen’s Experiences and Reflections on Vulnerability in Dialogue with Karl Rahner, Jürgen Moltmann, and Hans Urs von Balthasar, was defended in May 2025. Ordained to the priesthood on July 23, 2025, he serves as full-time coordinator of the Communications Team of the Indonesian Jesuit Province. His ministry also includes communications, youth formation, and spiritual accompaniment.
