Abstract

Drawing on interviews and years of pastoral experience with the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service at the New Bilibid Prison, this article addresses the lack of context-based catechetical materials for adult Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). It surveys Pope Francis' theology of missionary discipleship and the themes of accompaniment, inclusivity, and dialogue found in his exhortations and the Directory for Catechesis 2020, then applies a Pastoral-Theological methodology (Fr. Albert Alejo's D.A.R.E. framework) to design a tailor-fit adult catechetical program. The result is the 'AID' (Accompaniment, Inclusivity, Dialogue) module, structured around a Remember-Reflect-Respond format across twelve sessions, intended to form PDL volunteers as missionary disciples capable of healing, reconciliation, and eventual reintegration into society.
