Abstract

Reflecting on a missionary experience in Guatemala, this paper offers a theological synthesis that moves from a self-referential 'Theology of Refuge' to a mutually transformative 'Theology of Communion.' Rooted in the Trinity's self-giving life and the kenosis of Christ, the study reframes mission as participation in the missio Dei already underway in the world rather than one-directional propagation, with implications for missionary formation and parish life as communities of encounter.
